I want to show you how your lack of a giving plan will kill your church. Few churches have a giving or stewardship plan. Few pastors are clued into why this is so important. If we don’t change this our churches will look like the picture in this post, a spa.
One of the biggest mistakes churches are making today is the lack of planning for stewardship. Without a plan you are leaving fully funding your missions and ministries up to chance. Without a plan you are planning on failure. Your future without a stewardship plan is a closed church. If you think I am exaggerating consider that giving to the church by Americans in 1968 use to be 3.11% of their incomes. By 2011 it had fallen to 2.4%. It continues to drop and will continue to drop unless we do something.
The decline in church giving at the current rate will mean that by 2050 Americans will give only 1% of their incomes to churches. What that means is hundreds if not thousands of churches will cease to exist. Mission organizations will be force to close their doors. Church life as we know it will be drastically different. America will look much like Europe. Your grandchildren and great grandchildren will in all likelihood grow up as pagans. Our Korean and African brothers and sisters in Christ will start sending missionaries to our shores in an attempt to evangelize our lost nation. We are one generation away from this happening.
Giving to the church in 2013 is projected to decline. The big question for you is what are you going to do about this for your church? What plans do you have to maintain or reverse the declines in giving? If you don’t have a giving or stewardship plan then I hope you know a good real estate agent because ultimately your church will be up for sale!
Reversing the decline in giving, one church at a time! That is my life’s mission. I have worked with scores of churches helping them see their giving increase. I can help you. Before I can help you you have to admit that you need help. What I have found is that the tyranny of the urgent keeps most pastors and church leaders too preoccupied with other pressing issues. As a result stewardship planning takes a back seat and never gets done. What if someone did the work for you? What if someone put a plan in place for you?
The Hurdles to Getting Help for Giving or Stewardship Planning
I find that most churches either are ignoring this issue or they erect hurdles that keep them from getting the help they need. These are the primary hurdles we face when trying to land any church but in particular smaller churches.
Most churches do nothing. Why do churches not do anything? They don’t know what to do so they do nothing. What if you could get expert help?
Some churches try to develop their own plans. Why do some churches try to run their own giving campaigns? To save money! What if we made getting help affordable?
Most pastors hate stewardship planning. Why do pastors hate to run their own giving campaigns? It’s complex and hard! What if we made it simple and easy?
What is the biggest danger of not having a giving campaign? They won’t raise much money! What if we could help you become more effective?
Affordable, Easy and Effective! That is what our plans are. Any church no matter what size needs help. I can help you.
I have dedicated 2014 as the year I will revolutionize how stewardship is done in America! God has given me a vision and I would love to have you join me. Stay tune…
